About Us

AVAILABED has been in existence since 2005, and started with a database of 6 guest houses in Pretoria. The number of clients grew and the enquiries for accommodation in all areas of Pretoria started pouring in!

I had to quit my half day position after 3 months due to the heavy AVAILABED workload.
After 2 years, full time personnel had to be appointed.
After 3 years the first branches were established due to enquiries for accommodation in many
other areas in South Africa.

At this stage, AVAILABED has quite a variety of establishments on its database and several branches all over South Africa.

AVAILABED identified more towns where branches could be established and we believe that the success of AVAILABED will result in more branches coming shortly!

Origins

“The Availabed idea came into being during a time in which I worked at a guest house. At one point the guest house was unable to accommodate several guests due to no rooms being available. Availabed was born to fulfill an admin function to arrange alternative accommodation for the guests. Herewith, my deep gratitude toward Ignatius and Rialette Gous, owners of Beds of a Feather Guest House, who laid the foundation for this opportunity.

Each day at Availabed fills me with excitement, as it provides an interface between client and guest, and benefits both.

As a Christian, I believe the Lord began Availabed and has blessed it. As a token of gratitude it’s my passion to provide excellent service to our clients and have faith that all branch managers will do the same.“

Elsabé Welman established AVAILABED in 2005.

Elsabé is the manager of Head Office, and provides support to the other branches of Availabed.
